THINK is a non-profit organisation dedicated to improving the lives of those affected by TB and HIV. As a health delivery and research organisation, THINK engages with the local community, government consortia, and international funders to provide care for over 100,000 people in KwaZulu-Natal and carry out cutting-edge clinical research that has already contributed to changing treatment guidelines internationally and locally.

THINK is looking for qualified M&E District Coordinator to support the implementation of the THINK USAID TB LON project in KwaZulu Natal Districts. The aim of the project is to safeguard advances of TB treatment by strengthening the TB health care platform in the district. The M&E District Coordinator will be based in KwaZulu-Natal Province (uThukela / Amajuba) and report to the THINK M&E Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Provide guidance/mentorship to the Data Quality Mentors (DQM) including facility-based teams
  • Alignment of Project objectives with THINK Strategic intent
  • Alignment with funder expectations and requirements
  • Responsible for providing the M&E district report narrative on a quarterly basis
  • Monitoring data quality improvement processes (QIP) of the district implementation team
  • Facilitate M&E trainings and data support where necessary
  • Review of facility level reports from the DQM
  • Ensure data quality activities are aligned with DoH requirements
  • Work with Tier.net, DHIS and EDR.web data systems
  • Continuous engagement with district information officers
  • Continued internal stakeholder engagements with M&E district supporting staff
  • Regular external stakeholder engagements with DoH to ensure project deliverables are achieved
  • Regular internal stakeholder engagements i.e., TB clinical leads, district coordinator where necessary
  • Provide direct supervision to Data Quality Mentors
  • Capacity building through attending advanced M&E programmes

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 – Matric Certificate
  • An appropriate tertiary qualification such as a certification in monitoring and evaluation and/or data management
  • A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience as a Coordinator
  • Experience in a similar environment
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Excellent computer literacy is essential
  • Clear criminal record
