Position: Training Officer

Location: Hillcrest, KwaZulu-Natal

THINK is a non-profit organisation dedicated to improving the lives of those affected by TB and HIV. As a health delivery and research organisation, THINK engages with the local community, government consortia, and international funders to provide care for over 100,000 people in KwaZulu-Natal and carry out cutting-edge clinical research that has already contributed to changing treatment guidelines internationally and locally.

THINK is looking for qualified Training Officer to support the implementation of the THINK ADAPT project in Hillcrest.

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Co-ordinate training activities (internal THINK training and for the programme)
  • Build a digital training calendar with linked dashboard
  • Support and mentor nurses within the programme after initial training
  • Assist with development of training material
  • Develop relevant tools/ surveys and SOPs for training
  • Review of training material and assist with accessing updated guidelines, webinars and relevant information for the unit
  • Assist Training manager and IT with set up of virtual training modules and platform
  • Assist the districts with training preparation if an administrator is away on leave/ ill/ occupied with other activities.
  • Assist with data entry and data analysis
  • Report writing for stakeholders, funders and publications
  • Manage programme deliverables
  • Project related administrative duties
  • Mentor and train junior training staff and by extension, THINK staff
  • Capacity building through attending appropriate training


  • Bachelor’s Degree (Training or any related field would be advantageous)
  • Experience working in Training
  • Good communication and administrative skills
  • Experience in managing and coordinating staff
  • Experience working with various grants and regulatory submission
  • Good verbal skills to interact with collaborators and stakeholders
  • Highly computer literate
  • Driver’s license and car
  • Clear Criminal record
