Mental Illness Awareness Month: Collaborative Event at Deneysville Clinic

In recognition of Mental Illness Awareness Month this July, the Department of Health (DOH), in partnership with the Fezile Dabi District Mental Health Unit and THINK, organised a significant collaborative event at the Deneysville Clinic in the Free State, South Africa. The initiative aimed to raise awareness about mental wellness, save lives, and break the stigma associated with mental illness.

The event targeted the Deneysville community and mental health patients from the clinic. The agenda featured informative talks and a Q&A session to engage and educate attendees about mental health issues.

The primary goal of this event was to engage the community, provide valuable information about mental health, and foster open discussions around mental health issues. By directly addressing the residents of Deneysville and the clinic’s patients, the event aimed to enhance understanding and encourage positive attitudes toward mental wellness.
